Karen Etchells
Founder of Innovast Digital Marketing
Digital Marketing Strategist
Karen Etchells founded Innovast Digital Marketing in 2015 with a vision to help brands stand out online. With decades of experience and a passion for helping newly established business owners grow, Karen has become a trusted resource for entrepreneurs looking to elevate their online presence.
Karen’s journey into the digital world began long before Innovast. In 1998, she started creating websites for nonprofits whose missions inspired her. Over the years, she’s worked with hundreds of clients across diverse industries, blending her creative talents and technical expertise to craft solutions that deliver results.
For Karen, it’s about more than just building websites—it’s about building relationships. She understands that navigating the digital landscape can feel overwhelming, so she takes the time to guide clients through the process, explaining every step. Her approachable style and dedication to educating her clients ensure they not only get a great product but also feel empowered and confident about their marketing efforts.
At Innovast, Karen leads a talented team of web designers, content writers, graphic artists, photographers, and videographers—all local experts who share her commitment to excellence. Together, they create beautiful, functional websites and marketing strategies that help businesses connect with their target audiences and achieve their goals.
About Karen’s Personal Life…
Born and raised in Rhode Island, Karen lives in eastern Connecticut with her husband and three playful Standard Poodles. Her family is her “WHY”. As a mom to five, she left a job with the US Postal Service in the mid-1990s (when websites first became a thing!) to take evening classes at Rhode Island School of Design to learn website design while her children slept. These days, she is also a grandmother to six (with two new babies born in 2024!); Karen’s life is full of love and purpose. Despite the tragic loss of her eldest son in 2010, she’s channeled her resilience into fostering meaningful connections—both personally and professionally.
Outside of Innovast, Karen and her husband also manage mid-term rental properties, a side hustle that taps into her creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. She’s equally at home designing a welcoming space for guests as she is crafting stunning websites and successful marketing strategies for her clients.
When you work with Karen, you’re not just hiring a professional—you’re gaining a partner who is as invested in your success as you are. She combines creativity, technical expertise, and a genuine love for helping people to create solutions that truly make an impact.
Ready to take your online presence to the next level? Karen is here to help you every step of the way. Let’s connect and make your vision a reality!
